Sept. 9: The Texas Fashion Collection hosted 15 UNT Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for a "behind the seams" program sharing collection storage, care and cataloging.

The program was led by Annette Becker, TFC director, TFC Ailie Pankonien, TFC collection manager, and Katherine Santos, CVAD graduate student and Onstead Fellow, highlighting the expertise they lend to the TFC's holdings. Santos spoke about artifact storage in the TFC permanent collection storage space and shares a dress by Patricia Lester, which is stored curled up in an acid-free box, a necessary storage technique to keep its mushroom pleats intact; and Ailie spoke about cataloging artifacts while OLLI attendees review examples on printouts from the TFC public database.
