The TFC does not currently have dedicated exhibition space. From 2006-2012, Fashion on Main in downtown Dallas served as a gallery for TFC and UNT fashion exhibitions. The UNT College of Visual Arts and Design expanded the space, and until 2017 it operated under the auspices of the UNT Galleries as UNT ArtSpace Dallas. As of 2018, the space is now under the management of the UNT System and no longer functions as a gallery. For information about past TFC exhibitions — both at Fashion on Main and in area cultural institutions — visit the Past Exhibitions web page.
To see selected objects or arrange a tour of collection storage, please arrange an appointment in advance. Guidelines for these can be found at Tours and Research Appointments. Please note that access is available by appointment only, at the availability of TFC staff, and with priority given to researchers focusing on TFC holdings.
Digital access to a portion of the TFC's holdings can be found through the UNT Digital Library. Created by a collaborative effort between the UNT College of Visual Arts and Design and the University Libraries, this resource includes photographs and information about thousands of garments and accessories. These important resources offer remote access to objects, making them available to a wider range of researchers and ensuring the safety of objects in the collection.
Annette Becker, TFC director, is available for collection-focused lectures on topics relating to fashion history, theory and design. A speaker honorarium will be negotiated, and for lectures outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth area travel expenses will be in addition to the honorarium. To discuss possible topics or explore a speaker's availability, please email TFC staff at cvad.TFC@unt.edu.
